When Dan founded Eclipse he only wanted one thing, to help others. He noticed there was major lack of knowledge in the area of DOT awareness. He observed many companies thought they were abiding by state and federal regulations but in the end, were missing vital components to their DOT program. Believe it or not he worked for 2 years free of charge just to establishing his great reputation. Now Eclipse is used by some of the biggest contractors in the United states, as well as owner operator companies. Currently we sit on several boards including CVSA, TXTA, National Grange, and numerous trucking associations across North America. Our goal is not only to provide a service but to provide the best service, coaching, and advice available.
Our Chief Operating Officer Dan Greer
Dan grew up in southwestern Colorado on a farm. While he was in high school he obtained his EMT certificate and started working for a local fire department. Before he left the department he was a certified fire engineer, and captain of a local volunteer department. Then he started working for Coca-Cola where he gained valuable insight into every aspect of last mile delivery. Later he decided to work for a feed mill as their manager. Using the experience and knowledge he gained growing up about animal science and the transportation industry he was able to guide the company to a 0 violations year for road side stops! He later worked in the construction industry and eventually moved on to managing the regional logistics and safety for an equipment dealer in the western United States.
In 2013 he noticed that there was a shortage of CDL testers in Southwestern Colorado. Shortly after he started the grueling process to become a third party CDL tester of the State of Colorado. After a 1.5 year battle he achieved his goal. He was then approached by an energy company to see if he would be interested in creating a commercial driver training program for their company. This sparked the next part of his journey to create the company Eclipse.
While Dan has been very successful he continues to contribute every aspect of his success to God. “Without God involved in every facet of my life I wouldn’t have anything.” On a more personal note, Dan married his high school sweetheart Jenna. They have been married for over 14 years and are still happily married. They now have 4 children, Billy, Nathen, Brianna, & Jacob. One of their goals as a couple is to be able to spread their love of God to others around the world.
Our Vice President of Sales Kory Peine
Kory was born and raised on his family farm in Southwestern Colorado. While growing up he worked on their farm as well for his dad’s construction company. It was there where he learned about all types of construction and how to be a true leader. As he grew up in the construction industry working with trucks and heavy equipment really got Kory’s motor running. He later attended diesel school and became a mechanic for the largest Caterpillar dealer in the Southwestern United States. It didn’t take long for the company to promote him to a lead service adviser position where he worked hand-in-hand with customers and mechanics every day.
Kory was drawn to an industry where he could learn about hazardous materials and became a hazardous waste operator for an environmental consulting company in Farmington, New Mexico. Throughout his time there he sampled, profiled, and transported various hazardous and non-hazardous waste to various disposal facilities. Even with the technical experience, Kory found that his passion wasn’t limited to transportation, disposal, or mechanical. It was working with people. He then became a sales and customer service rep for a company and absolutely fell in love with talking to people about their difficulties and finding profitable solutions to make their lives easier. He enjoyed working with people so much he decided to take his career to the next level by joining Eclipse DOT as their VP of sales.
Kory knows that he was blessed to meet his wife Heather. They have been happily married for over 15 years and have been blessed with four children: Penny, Lila, Addy and Millie. Kory and Heather both attribute all their success, learning moments, and every aspect of their life to God. They both know that they wouldn’t be anywhere without God and his constant loving guidance.
